Parc del Fòrum hosted this year’s circus proposals of the Mercè Arts de Carrer festival, becoming a stage for the performing arts of movement.
The scenography was articulated through four bands of flags, conceived as ephemeral structures that engage a dialogue with the site’s topography.
Each band is constructed from two towers connected by tension cables, unfolding as a sequence of movement inspired by the photographs of Eadweard Muybridge.
The installation takes advantage of the slope of the stands and the proximity to the stairways to reinforce the curve and introduce points of reference, establishing a dialogue between the urban and the human scale. Movement becomes both vector and matter, giving structure to a space that transforms across multiple scales.
