Paisatges Persistents (enduring landscapes) reveals the richness and diversity of landscapes shaped by dry stone, while also asserting their continued relevance and persistence.
Most Catalan rural landscapes are shaped by dry stone masonry, a millenary and universal technique that has produced thousands upon thousands of kilometers of walls and anonymous constructions of widely varying typologies, dimensions, and uses, emerging everywhere, some very well preserved, others in a more precarious state.
Today, however, dry stone not only represents one of the most characteristic features of our landscapes and an extraordinary heritage legacy; above all, it is a true source of inspiration and an exceptional repository of those values that will be essential in addressing the challenges of today’s world.
